£337.50
Heritagem presents:
This ravishing pendant by Augis features a love letter and its envelope. It is wrote in French: ” + qu’hier – que demain “: “I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow.” The saying is written in black enamel (missing part for the word que). It is marked with the French eagle’s head and with the maker’s mark.
The French saying comes from the verse of the poem wrote by Mrs Rosemonde Gerard to her lover and husband: Edmond Rostand, the famous French writer of Cyrano de Bergerac, a dramatic love play. Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler’s from Lyon, made a love medallion with this verse written on it.
