£590
Heritagem presents:
This medal has a flowery around the edges. It is written in French: ” + qu’hier – que demain “: “I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow.” It is hallmarked with the maker’s mark A. A and with the eagle’s head for 18kt gold.
The French saying comes from the verse of the poem written by Mrs Rosemonde Gerard to her lover and husband: Edmond Rostand, the famous French writer of Cyrano de Bergerac, a dramatic love play. Alphonse Augis, a French jeweler’s from Lyon, made a love medallion with this verse written on it.
