This lovely pendant is fully made in 18kt yellow solid gold. You can open it and put a secret note inside. This pendant was designed from the Boule de Moulins, which was a metal round box where people used to hide their post mails during the Franco-Prussian War in 1870. It is marked 750 on the bale for 18kt gold. The pendant comes with its box and paper. It is in excellent condition.

We can see the signature on the left side: E. Dropsy (1848 – 1923) a French medallist. He is considered today as the religious medallist with the purest design. This brooch is from the Victorian era. It was made in France during the end of the 19th century, circa 1880. It is made in 18kt gold and silver, adorned with pearls. It has a very nice design with scrollwork, gold beads and volutes. The pearl on the bottom is dangling. The pendant could be also worn as a pendant thanks to the hood on the back. It has been controlled twice with the French hallmarks: the eagle’s head. There is also the maker’s mark on the pin. The brooch has some traces of patina and it is in very good antique condition.

The front pictures the profile of a young lady, looking to the left, she is probably the Virgin Mary as blue is her attribute. The back displays guilloche blue enamel. This heptagon medal was made in the early 20th century, circa 1920. It features St Georges slaying the Dragon. It is written Sanctus Georgius. It is signed G Rabier on the bottom. Gaston Rabier was a medallist in Paris circa 1920.
The back depicts a knight’s helmet with a sword and laurels leaves. It is written in latin Eques Equitum which means the knight. There is the cypher of the maker GR and a plain gold tag where a name or a date can be engraved.
